Custom Millwork & Closets in Greenwich Village
Bookcases, kitchens, closets and fireplaces for Greenwich Village’s Federal and Greek Revival townhouses, prewar co-ops around Washington Square and converted walk-ups, built in our Industry City shop to fit tight stairs and strict building rules.
Built in Brooklyn Manhattan

Greenwich Village buildings
Built for the Village’s older buildings
Much of Greenwich Village sits inside a large historic district, so most projects are interior renovations in buildings that are 100 years old or more.
Federal & Greek Revival townhouses
Early 19th-century rowhouses with narrow halls, winding stairs and parlor floors where bookcases and cabinets are scribed around fireplaces, moldings and old floors.
Prewar co-ops
Elevator buildings on Fifth Avenue, around Washington Square and along lower Fifth, where alteration agreements, board review and small service elevators shape every delivery.
Walk-ups & tenement conversions
Four- and five-story walk-ups with compact rooms, where full-height closets and built-ins add storage and every piece is sized for the stairwell.
Shops & studios
Storefronts, studios and offices on Bleecker, Eighth Street and side streets, with wall displays and shelving built to the fit-out drawings.
What we build
What we build for Greenwich Village homes
Village apartments and townhouses are rarely large, so the work is usually about storage that fits awkward rooms and pieces that make it up the stairs.

Custom Millwork
Library walls, parlor-floor bookcases, window seats, kitchen cabinetry and paneling sized for townhouse rooms and prewar layouts, often built in sections for tight stairs.
Custom Millwork
Aluminum & Glass Systems
Aluminum-framed glass closets, cabinet doors and shelving that add storage to compact apartments, built in our Brooklyn shop as modules that fit small elevators.
Aluminum & Glass Systems
Indoor Fireplace Systems
Planika bioethanol fireplaces need no chimney or gas line, an option where an original chimney is sealed or missing; room size, air circulation and clearances vary by model.
Fireplace SystemsAluminum & glass systems: cabinet doors, modular closets, wall displays and glass shelves.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
How do large pieces get into a Village walk-up or townhouse?
Pieces are sized and, where needed, built in sections to fit the narrowest stair, doorway and turn on the way in. These are confirmed with the final measurements before anything is made.
Can you work within my co-op’s alteration agreement?
Yes. We build to the approved drawings and plan delivery around your building’s service elevator, loading times and permitted work hours.
Can I have a fireplace if my chimney is sealed?
Planika bioethanol fireplaces need no chimney or gas line. Requirements for room size, air circulation and clearances vary by model and are confirmed before ordering.
