Jamaica Estates homes
Built for Jamaica Estates houses
Jamaica Estates was laid out in the early 1900s as a neighborhood of detached houses on curving, hilly streets, and it is still almost entirely single-family homes on larger lots.
Tudors & colonials
Early and mid-century Tudor, Colonial Revival and Mediterranean-style houses with paneled rooms, plaster walls and original trim that new built-ins need to match.
Rebuilt & expanded houses
Houses that have been enlarged or replaced, with open kitchens, double-height entries and primary suites large enough for a full dressing room.
Large kitchens
Family kitchens with long islands, pantries and tall storage, where custom cabinetry or German cabinets from Novalina (manufactured by Schüller) can be planned around how the house is used.
Libraries & finished basements
Studies, home offices and lower levels where full-height bookcases, media walls and storage are built to the room.

Planning
Planning millwork for a Jamaica Estates house
- Driveway delivery and the route into the house on sloped lots
- Truck routing on expressways, since parkways such as the Grand Central are closed to trucks
- Matching new built-ins to existing trim and paneling in older houses
- Final measurements once framing, drywall and floors are in during a rebuild
