Great Neck homes

Built for houses on the Great Neck peninsula

The Great Neck peninsula is a cluster of small villages, from Great Neck Plaza around the train station to Kings Point at the tip. Most projects are single-family houses, but the housing ranges widely from one street to the next.

Tudors & colonials

Early 20th-century houses in villages like Great Neck Estates and Russell Gardens, with plaster walls, original moldings and floors that have settled. Built-ins and paneling are scribed to the room rather than to a perfect box.

Rebuilt & expanded houses

Many lots have been rebuilt with larger houses: two-story entries, open kitchens with big islands, and primary suites with full dressing rooms. These suit full-height cabinetry and walk-in closet systems planned with the architect from the start.

Waterfront houses

Houses toward Kings Point and along Manhasset Bay and Little Neck Bay, with large windows facing the water. Storage walls and glass closets are planned around the views, and finishes are chosen with sun and humidity in mind.

Apartments near the station

Co-op and condominium buildings around Great Neck Plaza, where a kitchen or closet project follows the board’s alteration rules, elevator bookings and permitted work hours, much like a city apartment.

Planning

Planning millwork for a Great Neck house

  • Driveway delivery and the route from the truck into the house, through entries, stairs and landings
  • Final measurements once framing, drywall and floors are in, especially in rebuilt houses
  • Scribing to plaster walls and existing trim in older Tudors and colonials
  • Board alteration rules and elevator bookings for apartments near Great Neck Plaza

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do you build for houses in Great Neck and Kings Point?

Yes. We build cabinetry, built-ins, closets and fireplace surrounds for houses and apartments across the Great Neck peninsula, from our shop in Industry City, Brooklyn.

How do pieces get from Brooklyn to a Great Neck house?

Everything is built in our Brooklyn shop and delivered by truck on a scheduled day. Commercial trucks can’t use the parkways, so delivery runs over the expressways and arrives at your driveway; large pieces are sized for the route into the house.

Can you work with my architect on a rebuilt house?

Yes. We build to your architect’s or designer’s drawings, confirm final measurements once walls and floors are in, and time fabrication to the construction schedule.

I live in a co-op near the Great Neck station. Can you work within the building’s rules?

Yes. We build to the approved drawings and plan delivery around the building’s elevator, loading times and permitted work hours, as set out in the alteration agreement.
