Bayside homes

Built for Bayside’s houses and co-ops

Bayside sits at the northeast edge of Queens, next to the Nassau line, and reads more like a suburb than most of the city: mostly one- and two-family houses, with garden apartment co-ops and a few mid-rise buildings in between.

Tudors & colonials

Pre- and postwar detached houses in sections like Bayside Hills and the streets off Bell Boulevard, where kitchens and closets are often redone when a house changes hands and built-ins have to fit older walls and trim.

Expanded & rebuilt houses

Houses that have been extended, raised a story or rebuilt on the same lot, with larger kitchens, primary suites and dressing rooms that suit full-height cabinetry and walk-in closets.

Garden co-ops & condos

Low-rise co-op complexes and condominiums around Bay Terrace and along the bay, where work follows the board’s alteration rules and pieces come in through ground-floor entries and stairs rather than freight elevators.

Attached rows & two-families

Brick attached and semi-detached houses with narrower rooms, where storage under stairs, in finished basements and along short walls makes the most of the floor plan.

Planning

Planning millwork for a Bayside house or co-op

  • Driveway or curb delivery, and the route through front steps, side doors and basement stairs
  • Board approval and alteration agreements in garden co-ops and condominiums
  • Final measurements once framing, drywall and floors are in on an extension or rebuild
  • Coordination with your contractor, architect or designer on the renovation schedule

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do you build for houses and co-ops in Bayside?

Yes. We build cabinetry, built-ins and closets for detached houses, attached rows, garden co-ops and condominiums throughout Bayside, from our shop in Industry City, Brooklyn.

How do pieces get into a Bayside house?

Everything is built in our Brooklyn shop and delivered by truck on a scheduled day. Pieces are sized to the doorways, stairs and turns on the way in, which are confirmed with the final measurements before anything is made.

Can you work within my co-op’s alteration rules?

Yes. We build to the drawings your board approves and plan delivery around the building’s entry, permitted work hours and any insurance certificates the management company asks for.

How do I start a project?
